Carl Schuricht was one of the greatest conductors of the 20th Century. In 2006, hänssler CLASSIC celebrated this great musician's legacy with an extraordinary 20 CD + Bonus DVD Box Set. The continued success of this collection has resulted in further explorations of the SWR vast archives and ultimately revealed a SECOND goldmine of material.

As might be expected, "Carl Schuricht Collection II" features many extraordinary performances of 19th Century repertoire but also, provides a glimpse of Schuricht's advocacy of 20th century composers like Boris Blacher and Günter Raphael. A bonus disc featuring Schuricht in rehearsal rounds out this second portrait of one of the 20th century's greatest conductors.
