The label celebrated its tenth anniversary in October 2010 and over the years has established itself on the fiercely contested music market. The numerous awards and prizes awarded to SWR music attest to its success.
The musical spectrum of the label ranges from major orchestral compositions through a cappella works to chamber music and jazz productions, from the Viennese classical composers Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven to contemporary composers such as Luigi Nono, György Kurtag, and Wolfgang Rihm - to name only a few. SWR music presents musical events of the highest order of excellence.
